From April 2020:
Hi everyone! I hope you guys are doing fine in this pandemic. It’s been more than a month since the lock down started and we find that our energy is going down. Our minds are full of worries not only for everyone’s health, but in the overall situation. It is not easy being locked down, but hey, you are still allowed to go out for walk and jogging; just make sure be careful and take extra precautions and follow the social distancing rules.
I keep motivating myself going out for a few minutes for a walk to keep me moving each day. I’m still working few days a week to keep me out of the house for a while and that gives me extra miles to walk. Yes, I walk going to work, but it is only 15 minutes or less of walking.
It has been more than one month since the lock down began and yet we need to move around and do some exercise. Many of us are relied on the gym for exercise. However, gyms are still closed. For me getting out of the house is scary but getting a fresh air is very important. Whenever I’m off I’m trying to motivate myself to get out of the house for couple of minutes for a walk.
Waikiki beach:
Waikiki beach is one of my favorite place for walking because it is a few blocks from our house. Now that we are still locked down we cannot walk along Waikiki Beach now, so I just enjoy walking on the sidewalk.
The Mayor of Honolulu is supposed to reopen the parks for exercise soon. You may be able to go to your favorite hiking place. Hiking is one of the best activities that you can do to keep you active. See if Diamondhead and Makapu’u are open in May. They are good to hike because it is very easy to get up there.
You can also do some exercises while you are home. You do not need equipment: just a few minutes of stretching, push ups or you can be creative and use a full bottle of water to make a dumbbell.
